b) Do you think it is important to take part in democratic processes? Give two reasons for your point of view. (4)
i think that it is important to take part in democratic processes as some people are not able to and wish that they could so if you are able to you should not take advantage of that. also, it gives citizens a chance to have a say in government processes and it is important to know lots of different peoples opinions.
For: I do think it is important for christians to take part in democratic processes because in the Parable of the Sheep and Goats it is taught that christians have a responsibility to help those less fortunate than themselves, this can be achieved by voting for a political party with good intentions. One of jesus' teachings is to love your neihbour, this means to love everyone, if a political party with sinister intentions to a certain group, whether it is religion or ethnicity, were to be elected then it will partly be the christians fault for not voting and acting against this. This ultimately would be going against Jesus' teaching.
Against: I think there are several reasons why some may argue that Christian should not be involved in the democratic process. Ones is becasuse the UK is not a religous society and so christians should not try to push religous ideas on to a non-religous community because most people will not agree with christian moral principles. Also the UK is a multi-faith society and it would be wrong foe the democratic process to be in favour of christian views over those of other faiths.
Both of the two answers are worth 4 marks. The previous answer is not worth 4 marks, only 2 in my opinion.
